Terms of Use Lighten Journey™

1. Agreement and platform terms
These Terms govern your use of Lighten Journey, operated by Mayanfa, a French SASU registered under number 103 704 961 R.C.S. Paris, with its registered office at 30 rue des Cordelières, 75013 Paris, France. By downloading, creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or using the app, you agree to these Terms.
For downloads through Apple, these Terms supplement Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (“Apple Standard EULA”), available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. If a conflict concerns your license to use the iOS app, the Apple Standard EULA controls. Apple’s Media Services Terms and applicable App Store rules also apply to purchases. Google Play terms will apply to Android purchases when that version launches.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract to use Lighten Journey.
3. What Lighten Journey is
Lighten Journey is a self-guided audio method for personal reflection on emotional memories, internal patterns, inherited beliefs, people-pleasing patterns, and commonly described emotional wounds. It provides guided audio sessions and a personal record of completed reflection work.
4. Health and safety disclaimer
Lighten Journey is a self-guided reflection and personal-development service. It is not psychotherapy, clinical psychological care, medical advice, diagnosis, crisis intervention, or mental-health treatment. It does not establish a doctor–patient or therapist–client relationship and does not replace care from a qualified professional.
Do not use Lighten Journey as an emergency or crisis service. If you believe you may harm yourself or someone else, cannot remain safe, or face an immediate emergency, contact local emergency services now. For verified crisis-support resources in your country, visit https://findahelpline.com/.
The sessions may bring up strong emotions. You are responsible for choosing whether and when to participate. Move at your own pace, pause or stop whenever needed, and seek professional support if the experience becomes overwhelming or if you have concerns about whether the app is appropriate for you.
5. Accounts
You agree to provide accurate account information, protect your login credentials, and notify us promptly of unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity conducted through your account except to the extent caused by Mayanfa’s failure to use reasonable security.
6. Private content
You retain ownership of titles, notes, and other original content you enter. You grant Mayanfa only the limited rights necessary to host, store, transmit, synchronize, back up, and display that content to you, to the extent required by the app’s actual functionality. We handle this content according to the Privacy Policy.
Do not enter content that infringes another person’s rights, is unlawful, or that you are not authorized to provide.
7. Subscriptions and billing
Full access requires a monthly or annual auto-renewable subscription. The price, currency, billing period, and features included are displayed before you confirm the purchase.
Lighten Journey does not offer a free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
Your subscription renews automatically for the selected billing period unless you cancel it through your App Store or Google Play account settings before renewal. The store may charge the renewal within the period specified in its terms. You can manage or cancel the subscription in the relevant store settings.
Deleting the app or deleting your Lighten Journey account does not automatically cancel the store subscription. You must cancel it separately through Apple or Google.
Refunds, billing disputes, introductory or promotional offers if introduced later, and price-change notices are handled under the rules of the store through which you purchased. Except where mandatory law provides otherwise, Mayanfa cannot issue refunds for transactions processed solely by Apple or Google.
8. License and acceptable use
Subject to these Terms and the applicable platform terms, Mayanfa grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Lighten Journey for your own non-commercial purposes.
You may not copy, record, reproduce, distribute, sell, sublicense, publicly perform, scrape, reverse engineer, interfere with, bypass security or access controls, misuse another person’s account, introduce malicious code, or use the app or its content for unlawful purposes, except where a restriction is prohibited by mandatory law.
9. Intellectual property
Lighten Journey, its method, audio sessions, protocols, texts, graphics, trademarks, software, and other materials are owned by or licensed to Mayanfa and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. No ownership rights are transferred to you.
10. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Lighten Journey available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may maintain, update, modify, suspend, or discontinue features where reasonably necessary. Where required by law, we will provide appropriate notice of material changes that adversely affect a paid service.
11. Third-party services
The app may depend on services supplied by Apple, Google, hosting, authentication, analytics, or other providers. Their own terms and privacy policies may apply to their services. Mayanfa is not responsible for third-party services beyond the extent required by applicable law.
12. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lighten Journey is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not promise that the app will achieve a particular emotional, personal, therapeutic, medical, or other result. Individual experiences vary.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, remedies, or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable statutory rights in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, Australia, Canada, or your place of residence.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mayanfa is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, opportunity, or goodwill arising from use of the app.
Mayanfa does not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence where such liability cannot be excluded, or breach of mandatory consumer rights.
14. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of a material breach, fraud, security risk, unlawful use, or legal requirement. Where appropriate and legally required, we will provide notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute provisions—will remain effective.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This choice does not deprive consumers of mandatory protections or the right to bring proceedings in the courts available under the law of their habitual residence.
Before filing a claim, you may contact support@mayanfa.com so that we can attempt to resolve the issue informally.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the app, our business, or applicable law. Material changes will be notified where required. Continuing to use the service after the effective date of lawful changes constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
